Course Selection by Grade Level

RISING FRESHMEN
1. Students will be enrolled in the following four core course areas:
English
  • Freshman Lit. & Comp. (EN100A/EN100B)
  • Freshman Lit. & Comp. Honors (EN190A/EN190B)
Math
  • Algebra I (MA102A/MA102B)
  • Geometry (MA103A/MA103B)
  • Geometry Honors (MA190A/MA190B)
  • Algebra II (MA200A/MA200B)
  • Algebra II Honors (MA290A/MA290B)
  • Precalculus (MA303A/MA303B)
  • Precalculus Honors (MA390A/MA390B)
Science
  • Physics (SC100A/SC100B)
  • Accelerated Physics (SC101A/SC101B)
Social Studies
  • World History 1450-Present (SS105A/SS105B)
2. Students should complete their course selection by choosing elective courses from the following areas:
  • World Language, Practical Arts (Business, Family & Consumer Science, Engineering & Technology), Fine Arts (Art, Music, Drama), Physical Education, or Health.
3. Athletes, Cheerleaders, Pommies and students in Band, Orchestra, or Choir must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits each semester to be MSHSAA eligible.

4. Include Alternate choices when registering for classes and on your course selection sheet.

RISING SOPHOMORES
1. Students who have passed all of the core 9th grade classes must choose from the following 10th grade core classes:
English
  • Sophomore Lit. & Comp. (EN200A/EN200B)
  • Sophomore Lit. & Comp. Honors (EN290A/EN290B)
Math
  • Algebra I (MA102A/MA102B)
  • Geometry (MA103A/MA103B)
  • Geometry Honors (MA190A/MA190B)
  • Algebra II (MA200A/MA200B)
  • Algebra II Honors (MA290A/MA290B)
  • Precalculus (MA303A/MA303B)
  • Precalculus Honors (MA390A/MA390B)
  • Calculus (MA400A/MA400B)
Science
  • Chemistry (SC200A/SC200B)
  • Chemistry Honors (SC290A/SC290B)
Social Studies
  • United States History (SS203A/SS203B)
  • AP US History (SS501A/SS501B)
2. Students should complete their course selection by choosing elective courses from the following areas:
