Theatre Course Descriptions

MSHSAA Eligibility: The Music Department participates in MSHSAA sanctioned events. Students must meet MSHSAA eligibility requirements to participate in MSHSAA events. To be eligible a student must be enrolled for a minimum of 3 credit hours in the semester the event occurs and must have passed a minimum of 3 credit hours in the semester prior.

Band--General Information

Grade: 9, 10,11,12

Prerequisite: Successful completion of previous year’s Kirkwood Band curriculum and Teacher approval

  • Band is a full year course.
  • All students will be enrolled in MARCHING BAND Semester 1.
  • All students must be enrolled in MARCHING BAND to qualify for CONCERT BAND, WIND ENSEMBLE or SYMPHONIC BAND.
  • All rising Freshmen will enroll in SYMPHONIC BAND Semester 2.
  • All rising Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will be assigned to WIND ENSEMBLE or SYMPHONIC BAND Semester 2 by audition.
