Dr. Seth Harrell
Dr. Harrell serves as the Head Principal of Kirkwood High School. Before joining Kirkwood, he was the principal of Jackson High School and has held other principal positions throughout his career. In addition to his work as an administrator, Dr. Harrell has served students as a history teacher and coach, experiences that shaped his passion for building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
He earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri–Columbia, a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from William Woods University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
Dr. Harrell believes that strong schools are built through collaboration, clear communication, and a shared commitment to student success. He is a visible presence on campus - greeting students in the morning, visiting classrooms, and attending school events - because he believes that being present is key to building trust and a positive school culture. His goal is to ensure that every student feels seen, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
