About Dr. Roumpos

Dr. Roumpos began as superintendent of Kirkwood Schools for the 2025-26 school year. He has dedicated his career to public education, serving over 20 years in teaching and administrative roles at several St. Louis-area districts. Previously, he served as the Francis Howell School District superintendent and deputy superintendent. Dr.  Roumpos also served 13 years in the Ritenour School District, with four years as an Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Leadership Development. Before that, he spent nine years at Ritenour Middle School as Assistant Principal (2007-2009) and Principal (2009-2016). Roumpos also worked in the St. Louis Public Schools system as Assistant Principal of the Shaw Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School. He began his career in education as a teacher in the Mehlville and St. Louis Public School Districts.
 
Dr. Roumpos holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from Vanderbilt University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from MacMurray College. Dr. Roumpos is married to Amy, a middle school math teacher, with four children, from middle school to college-aged.
