Technology expectations around WiFi and off-site testing.

WHEN TRAVELING

Whether you are traveling to a local Panera to study with your laptop, within the state for a traveling sports tournament, or out of the country for vacation, the KHS-issued student laptop may not support all types of WiFi connections. This is due to varying level of security standards that the new network may be configured to meet. The network profiles on the KHS laptop meet the policy and regulations determined by our district.

If you know you are traveling, and need to have consistent network connectivity, it is advisable to have a backup personal device or connection.

WHEN TESTING

The above also pertains to off-site ACT, SAT or other testing. If you are unable to run device readiness checks at the location of your test, we advise that you bring a secondary personal device as a backup. If you don’t have a personal device, please reach out directly to the company hosting your exam for alternate options (ie. SAT, ACT).

Kirkwood School District is unable to provide technology support for connecting to other networks outside of the Kirkwood School District.
